I have taken piano lessons with Natalia for 3 ½ years, after trying online videos and a local piano teacher for a year. What a difference she made in my piano-playing journey! Natalia is an experienced educator and musician who has high standards for her students. Her strong musical skills, backed by her educational background in music, result in a curriculum that integrates music theory, exercises, and concepts into the musical compositions she chooses for me. As an adult learner, I was introduced to the piano as a child at the age of nine, but I have not played it in 60 years. Her flexible teaching style is evident as she accommodates my music preference and learning techniques. She provides options based on my music interests. She uses a lesson plan book where she writes the learning plan for the week, ensuring that we are both clear on what I should focus on for the week. She is also patient when I am having difficulty with a piece, and her diagnostic skills are unparalleled. After listening and/or watching me play the difficult measures, she is able to identify the problem and come up with a solution. I have known Natalia for about 10 years, during which time she has been my daughter’s piano teacher.

Natalia started with my daughter as a 7 year old child just learning where middle C was, and has taught her to play increasingly complex pieces, in addition to music theory, and general music education. The whole family has enjoyed the beautiful live music playing in our household over the years.

Natalia herself is a skilled musician who often performs duets with her students – both piano and violin– and every now and again we get to hear her beautiful voice as she sings with her performers.
